The staff were great and couldn't do enough to help us and get the group settled in, including helping us move everything into the property.
However the sofa beds were appalling. The center section of one of them had broken springs, and the guest sleeping on them ended up on the floor. The apartments were also very warm and it wasn't entirely clear how to turn the heating off.Kirsten McGeoch, 30th September 2013
Great location and great facilities - used city base before and have always been very pleased with the facilities and the hygiene of all locationsParm G, 16th September 2013
nice central location, very kind lady at the reception, nice apt. at the upper floors, in needs of air-con for summer staying11th September 2013
We were very pleased with this apartment. The space of the apartment is incredible, especially with most hotels in the U.K. being so small. We had everything we needed. If we were lacking anything, the staff got it too us right away. We had a problem with the TV and the staff got us a brand new one the next day! This apartment is across the street from The Mailbox shopping and restaurants and within walking distance to Brindley place along the beautiful canals and within a mile from The Bullring Shopping Center. There is a Tesco Express (grocery store) across the street that had everything we needed to make our own meals. This saved us quite a bit of money. And if you need a Starbuck's coffee, there is also one across the street. I will recommend this place to those that need to travel to Birmingham either on business or pleasure. The only negative is that the bed is a little hard, but we stayed 9 nights and did fine.
Thank you to the staff for the wonderful stay!!!Janice Burke, 18th March 2013
Friendly staff, quiet secure location, comfortable and spotless.Maire Gaffney, 4th March 2013
We regularly stay over-night in Birmingham either for pleasure or business and we often use apartments. This is the first time we have used the Spires but hopefully it will not be the last. It is very conveniently located within ten minutes walk of the cultural and shopping centre of the city and right next to the Mail Box which has a good range of shops, restaurants and canal side bars. The apartment we had was on two levels which made for a more spacious feel. It was very clean and well equipped. The cost was about half that for a decent hotel. I am recommending this place to friends and would certainly choose it again.Peter Traves, 13th February 2013
The room was not ready on our arrival after 2pm and the cleaners were not even anywhere near finishing the cleaning, when i opened the door to appart at approx 3.00pm the cleaners had sheets all over the floor. My party of 4 then had to wait outside the room until approx 3.30pm before we could get into the room. the appart was not cleaned at all to a high standard as advertised. I could hear the cleaners saying "quick" to each other as they knew we were standing outside the door. we reported the dishwasher to be leaking largely all over the kitchen floor at approx 17.00hrs this was never fixed. By the look of the floor tiles this was not the first time this had leaked. The shower in the ensuit bedroom also leaked and we had to use all the towels provided to mop this up only enabling one shower to be taken as the other couple in my group were using the main bathroom.
Also the paintwork/wall behind the curtains towards the patio doors was unsightly. However the location of the appart was excellent and at all times the staff were pleasant it would have just been nice to have the finer touches that i was expecting.Rachael Clifford, 18th December 2012
Would have preferred to have free internet access and also a business center that had printers or conference room facilities. Having to pay for services like wifi can really add up, especially considering the UK has very high data usage charges when compared to the US. The TV could also have been a little newer - we had a lot of background noise when watching some channels which was obviously due to the age of the TV rather then reception quality.Kirtida Patel-Neal, 9th October 2012
Last minute booking for a centrally-located apartment in Birmingham for myself and a few friends.
We just needed a base that wasnt too far from the train station, or from our plans for the weekend.
It was clean, the front of house staff were friendly, and the amenities were ideal.Alex Pollock, 1st October 2012

I stayed with a group of 5 friends celebrating a 40th birthday and found The Spires Apartments to have excellent facilities, be fantastic value for money and all in all make our weekend excellent. The apartments are a short walk from The Mailbox and the Comedy Club. The apartments were spacious, modern, very clean and well equipped. Even in this very wet weather we were able to walk out of our apartments onto the courtyard and enjoy what little bit if sun shone.Julie Peirson, 10th July 2012

The only single bad thing I have to say is that upon arrival we were informed that our booking had been changed from one room for 6 people to 2 rooms of 3. This was a set back for us as a group as we dont get many opportunities to be together at once so booking a 6 bed apartment instead of a number of hotel rooms was a big sell for us. Splitting into two rooms was a shame but didnt spoil the weekend. The lady on reception was fantastic and very helpful and understanding of the situation. Great location, excellent facilities for us, perfect!
We will be back! :)Jenna Lepore, 5th June 2012
Central location and I have to say excellent customer service and attention from the apartment managers who were working over our 3 night stay. However.... the standard of these apartments isn't up to scratch, hot water wasn't working, dirty carpets and broken microwave. In fairness, the site manager did upgrade us immediately to an executive suite when the water broke down, this was appreciated but a pain having to move all of our items 2 floors up. You cannot quibble with the price, however I have stayed in better 'apartment' type accommodation than this in the past. A shame as it is in a great location.Marcella Mcgeough, 4th April 2012
we needed an extra duvet at night which we requested numerous times but couldnt be provided so one of us had to sleep without one.
apart from that cant really complain would recommend to all.28th February 2012
Stayed with girl friends for my 40th Birthday. Fantastic location right next to the Mailbox. Apartment was superb, very clean and fully equipped. I would certainly stay there again and would recommend to all my friends. Gina on reception was very helpful.21st February 2012
